Saurophaganax Tuesday

Dino Lord's here to continue the never ending fun of the dinosaurs with Saurophaganax Tuesday.

Saurophaganax has a long history due to the fact that it is still only known from very partial remains, these show a strong resemblance to the common smaller Allosaurus. At 13 meters long Saurophaganax was very large for a Jurassic theropod and could have rivaled both Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. With the size of Saurophaganax it would have been the dominant predictor of the late Jurassic North america, but there was a price with the size it was not as numerous as smaller predatory dinosaurs. The larger the body a dinosaur has the more supply of food it needs so it was not always easy to get a meal. Saurophaganax may have been a specialist scavenger that waited for other large theropod dinosaurs to take down prey that cloud supply Saurophaganax and other predictor was not the size to challenge it.
