Daspletosaurus Saturday

Dino Lord here to give the ancestor of the tyrannosaurus. The Daspletosaurus.

This carnivore is remarkably similar to that of Tyrannosaurus with the main difference being smaller but heavier build, the feet shorter and teeth proportionally larger. Some say Daspletosaurus was the ancestor of Tyrannosaurus, others consider it to be a sub species, although no definitive Tyrannosaurus remains have been found to date from the same time as Daspletosaurus. Daspletosaurus is possibly contender for social interaction leading to pack hunting. The skulls of Daspletosaurus show face biting and like other predictors could have been for dominance over a group, territorial dominance or possibly even inflicted during the mating process. This pack hunter stood at 8-9 meters long and was in the campanian of the cretaceous.
